On the second weekend in July the streets come alive with the Norway Music & Arts Festival, a three-day event that celebrates the visual and performing arts and draws thousands of residents and visitors to downtown Norway.

The Annual Sidewalk Art Show draws thousands of people to downtown Norway's Arts Festival. Performances include dancers, musicians, poets, entertainers and theatrics. Festivities include a pre-event benefit (Norway FRINGE Showcase) on Thursday evening at the American Legion Hall and a Friday Street Dance featuring well-known bands and musicians for a community celebration.

October Fest

Celebrating local food and local farmers brings the Foothills Food Festival every second weekend in August from the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy to Longley Square. Local food, farmers, musicians, speakers come from all around the area. Local beer from area brewers have sampling in the Beer Garden. Cooking contests, art for kids and adults, and a Farmers' market give everyone the opportunity to see who grows our food, brews our beer, and who works to create a robust local food system here in the foothills of Western Maine.

Foothills Food Festival.  Norway Downtown's Spring Festival and Halloween Fest offer family-themed activities along the length of Main Street, with Main Street businesses and organizations opening their doors to join in the fun.

The Norway Family Fishing Festival comes at the end of May to Butters Park. This event is a family educational day to teach age 16 and under how to fish thats to the Norway Parks & Recreation Department who pulls together organizations like Mollyockett Trout Unlimited, Bryant Pond 4H, the Lakes Association of Norway, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, as well as Maine Game Wardens.

Maine’s largest Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, marches through downtown Norway on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

January’s cold brings Snow Fest to Lake Pennesseewassee, with snowmobile races, an antique snowmobile show, a chowder cookoff, and more.

An Ice Fishing Derby is held on the lake in February. Many community events punctuate the year, reminders of Norway’s small town charm.

Western Foothills Land Trust's Annual Snowshoe Festival in February includes presentations, exhibits in Norway, snowshoe races and fun for everyone at Roberts Farm Preserve during the day, and fiddling and contra dance music at the Grange in the evening. It features 5k and 10k Snowshoe Races and the only Snowshoe Wife Carry in the world!
